Podcast to First Paper Reflection

Podcast to First Paper Reflection

In my first paper, I wrote about how emerging adults need to grow up and stop relying on their parents. I was against emerging adulthood being implemented as a life stage within our society. In my podcast, I asked Maggie Steele about the five milestones in life, and what she thought about them. She described the lessons that people learn from each milestone and talked about how they are important. This is very similar to what I said in my first paper. I said that we need to not delay adulthood, as it is the transition into adulthood that helps us grow and to become our own individuals. The podcasts as a whole gave a great opportunity to listen to an older perspective, a perspective from someone who did not grow up with technology. To hear Maggie say that she was excited about the future with technology, and thinks that it will be great was surprising. I thought that most adults had a negative view on technology, specifically cell phones. I want to write my final paper on how technology is a good tool, but people are misusing it, and that is tearing our society apart. Because Maggie was so supportive of technology, I will not be able to use this podcast in my paper, however I liked to hear her point of view.
